This is a rustic, farm-made vintage piece, done for utilitarian, family purposes: this would be wonderful bedspread and maybe even a comforter during winter, as it is medium weight, with a very warm batting of old fashion, “clumpy” 100% cotton. The fabrics are all feed sack scraps, and pieces of cottons used to maker shirts or other garments. The makers had a lot of different prints are their disposition and used them; there are several novelty prints among those feed sacks. Because of the type of pattern, crazy stripes or squares, the swatches are all rather small. Please notice the fabric with owls and the one with toy rocking chairs. The setting was done by hand as well as the quilting, in straight lines pattern. The backing is a wonderful green with white pink flowers feed sack. Although this quilt is in good condition, please be advised it is well used and well washed, and some of the fabrics might have lost a bit of luster and color, and are just a tad faded. The quilt measures approximately 77″ by 70″ across.
