Antique Handmade Patchwork Quilt 75 x 78. Checkerboard 1910’s-1930 Feedsack. Nice Fine quality quilt with tiny even hand stitches (8-10/inch) throughout. The quilting pattern is a simple grid. Fabrics of shirting prints or solid pinks and greens pieced into a checkerboard blocks with pink strips in between large blocks. Pink sashing around edge for border. This quilt has the front and back edges turned in and carefully hand stitched to form the edge. The backing is a very nice homespun/muslin type fabric, my guess from feedsacks. The batting is lightweight with what appears to be seed flecks when held up to the light. Issues: there are several small spots. A really nice showy quilt representative of the time period.
